Johnson and Johnson's "Champions of Care"

June 25, 2014

Congratulations Maria Jaramillo for being chosen as the Overall Champion of Care in Johnson & Johnson CARE INSPIRES CARE™ campaign. The CARE INSPIRES CARE™ campaign was based on the belief that one act of care can inspire another and, ultimately, create a more caring world.

Although hundreds of people submitted stories of people that inspired changes in their lives, Maria was selected as one of 6 finalist. The voting went public in May, was shared via various social media outlets and people found Maria's story to be truly inspiring as did I.

Maria Jaramillo has been inspiring hundreds of students and their families to earn their collage degrees and follow their dreams. For the past 11 years she was been a dedicated teacher in the underprivileged Hispanic community where she grew up. She has instilled in her students confidence and skill set that they need to believe in themselves and to strive for greatness.

“Maria is a true inspiration and example of how caring acts both big and small can make a real difference in people’s lives,” said Holly Means, Vice President, Corporate Equity Strategy and Sponsorships, Johnson & Johnson. “

Maria's acts of true kindness, will be honored by Johnson & Johnson at the upcoming 2014 FIFA World Cup Brazil™ where she will attend the final match in Rio de Janeiro on July 13.
